Gateway's Annual Physician of the Year/ Scholarship Gala

This year’s Oswald Nickens Physician of the Year Awardees are Marvin McGowan, DO, Primary Care Services, Central Outreach Wellness Center (COWC) and, MaCalus V. Hogan, MD, Vice Chair of Education and Residency Program Director UPMC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery

 The Oswald Nickens Physician of the Year Award recognizes these physicians for their distinguished career as health care providers as well as outstanding dedication to community service.

 Outstanding leaders will be honored with the “Champions of Gateway Medical Society - Making a Difference” Award; given to individuals who have provided Gateway Medical Society with service and resources to grow.  The 2018 honorees are Carol A. Neyland, Senior Vice President Community Development, Dollar Bank. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®Alpha Alpha Omega Chapter and Pittsburgh Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

Erin Issac, DMD., Pediatric Dentist and Rachel C Toney, MD., Gastroenterology at Allegheny Health Network will receive the 2018 Rising Star award recognize physicians and health care professionals who are early to not yet quite mid-point in their careers and who have demonstrated leadership in the areas of community health, the reduction of health care disparities as well as clinical excellence.

A variety of sponsorship levels are available to meet your needs and are described in detail in the enclosed Sponsorship Packet. Ads are also available for our program booklet and additional information is included. Proceeds raised through the Gala will provide scholarship opportunities for under-represented medical students. Through your generosity you can provide financial enrichment for a future physician and help fund programs to improve community health.
